Policies and Rules

To have an event that we can all enjoy we need to share certain values and rules. By attending Ljubljana Tango Festival you agree to the following rules.

The Festival is a closed event reserved exclusively for active tango dancers.

You can either register in advance or just come to the door.

We do not select attendees by dance style, role, gender, age, or "level", but we do reserved the right to prevent access to the event to anyone who does not respect the world of tango and its rules and customs.

BASIC CONDUCT During the event you shall refrain from any form of aggression, excesive drinking, substance abuse, or any behaviour that may make the event unsafe or less pleasant for other participants.

IN CLASSES you must have a dance partner. We cannot allow you to watch the class or work alone as this usually inconveniences others and the teachers. Before attending the class you should check-in with the organizer present at the class. You must follow the instructions of the teachers. Taking videos of photos during the class is not allowed unless explicitly invited to do so by the teachers, usually at the end of the class. Any photos or videos taken are for your own use and you may not share them on social media or otherwise. You can attend classes even if you have not registered if you come as a couple and there's space on the class. Come to the class 15 minutes before, there's a reception desk there. The rules for classes apply equally to the seminar.

AT MILONGAS you shall first approach the reception desk and present the whist-band or your entry ticket. The event is exclusivelly reserved for tangueros. You cannot reserve or occupy tables at the milongas, please share. Use the chairs next to the walls for you personal belongings. Generally you are expected to observe the rules of mirada and cabezeo. To enter the ronda, please use the entries provided (the corners and sometimes in the middle of the long side). Establish eye contact with the dancers that your entry will disturb before entering the ronda. Do not crosss the pista, change lanes or overtake. Dance at the speed of the others. When crowded, avoid the moves outside of the couple (eg. outside voleos).

RECORDINGS You may not record sound or video at the festival, but you can take and share still photos. If you share photos publically you are responsible to share only what is acceptable for the persons on the photos. You must remove from public view any photo objected by any person whose face is visible on the photo.

DURING PERFORMANCES you are expected to watch the performance or leave the room. You can film and share the shows.

PERSONAL BELONGING Please leave your outside shoes and coats at the warderobes. Only smaller items belong to the sala. Keep you valuable items safe as the organizers are not responsible for their safety. For lost or found items please contact the reception desk. After the festival write us to info@tangofestival.si and we'll do our best to help.

LIMITED RIGHT TO ATTEND The organisers reserve the right to deny entry to the event or to remove from the event any participant failing to follow these rules.

COME TO THE DOOR if you are a tango dancer and just want to attend individual milongas.

REGISTER ONLINE in advance for the seminar, classes, or milongas. We are not choosing who can attend (on gender, age, level) but you have to be an active tango dancer. Registration in only valid if paid on time. You will get an email finally confirming your registration. If you fail to pay on time we will deleted your registration to make place for the others. You can of course register again. If you have paid but cannot attend the event you can transfer your registration to another suitable person as long as you inform us by email info@tangofestival.si. If you cannot attend for a serious reason (unforseen medical problem, death in family) we will refound 80% of your registration, provided that you inform us in advance and that we agree for each particular case.

EARLY BIRD (lower) prices are only valid if you registration is paid during the early bird period.

PARTNERS FOR CLASSES We can help you find a partner to attend classes. To get our help, register for all classes that you are interesed in, and pay for your registration. We will refound you the money for all classes where you were left without a partner a few weeks after the festival. Note that we connect potential partners. It is your responsibilty to choose and finally agree with the other person(s). We don't guarantee that the potential partners will be to your liking before or during the classes.
